First created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy for his inner circle, X.O (Extra Old) established a global standard for aged Cognac. This expression is crafted from a masterfully curated blend of over one hundred eaux-de-vie, primarily distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes harvested across the premier crus of the Cognac region, including Grande and Petite Champagne. Aged for up to several decades in French Limousin oak casks, the spirit develops a deep amber hue and a complex aromatic profile. Kim Jones honors this legacy by wrapping the decanter in a sleek, structural second skin of aluminum, evoking both the draping of couture fabric and the protective nature of the historic cellars. The liquid inside remains the classic, powerful Hennessy X.O, showcasing layers of candied fruit, sweet spices, cocoa, and a robust, peppery finish.
