✨ Technical Specifications
Released in 1985 to commemorate the 220th anniversary of the founding of the house of Hennessy, this exceptionally rare Cognac pays tribute to the historic Château de la Roche Courbon, a breathtaking 15th-century castle in the Charente-Maritime region. Crafted from a meticulous selection of historic eaux-de-vie distilled primarily from Ugni Blanc grapes, this blend represents the pinnacle of the Fillioux family's blending legacy. The spirit underwent traditional double-distillation in copper Charentais alembic stills before spending decades maturing in seasoned Limousin French oak casks. The result is an incredibly complex, velvety spirit that weaves together rich notes of rancio, dried stone fruits, warm spices, and toasted oak, capturing a unique moment in Hennessy's storied history.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy, Maison Hennessy is the world's leading Cognac house, nestled along the banks of the Charente River in Cognac, France. The house's enduring excellence is rooted in centuries of savoir-faire and a historic multi-generational collaboration with the Fillioux family of Master Blenders. Utilizing meticulously selected Ugni Blanc grapes from Cognac's finest crus—including Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois—Hennessy double-distills in traditional copper pot stills before patient maturation in fine-grained French oak casks. Renowned for setting international benchmarks, its iconic range spans the elegant VSOP Privilège and the original X.O—pioneered in 1870—to exceptional prestige assemblages like Hennessy Paradis and Richard Hennessy.
