The Master Blender’s Selection No 3 represents a historic milestone for the legendary house of Hennessy, marking the very first personal blend crafted by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the eighth-generation Master Blender from the illustrious Fillioux family. Unlike Hennessy's signature cognacs, which strive for absolute consistency year after year, the Master Blender's Selection is a highly limited, single-batch release that celebrates creative freedom and singular moments in time. Distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes grown in the chalky soils of the Cognac appellation, this expression is a hand-selected assemblage of eaux-de-vie aged for at least seven years in both young and seasoned French oak casks. Bottled at a robust 43% ABV, it reveals a distinctively vibrant character, defined by elegant notes of toasted hazelnuts, sweet praline, and subtle baking spices, capturing a unique sensory snapshot of the historic Charente cellars.
🍾 wine.about_producer
Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy in the historic town of Cognac, France, Hennessy has grown to become the world's most celebrated Cognac house. Headquartered on the banks of the Charente River along Rue de la Richonne, the house is renowned for its centuries-old blending heritage, famously guided by eight generations of master blenders from the Fillioux family. Utilizing traditional double-distillation in copper Charentais alembic stills, Hennessy ages its precious eaux-de-vie in French oak casks sourced from the Limousin forest to develop unparalleled complexity and depth. The estate's legendary portfolio is defined by iconic expressions such as the VSOP Privilège, the pioneering XO Cognac—a category first created by Maurice Hennessy in 1870—and the exquisite, ultra-premium Hennessy Paradis.
