Hennessy Paradis was first conceived in 1979 by Master Blender Maurice Fillioux, who sought to create an ultra-elegant Cognac defined by its harmonious complexity. Named after the legendary 'Paradis' cellar—the sacred heart of Hennessy where the oldest, most precious eaux-de-vie rest in seasoned oak—this expression is a masterful blend of up to one hundred distinct eaux-de-vie, primarily sourced from the prestigious Grande and Petite Champagne crus. The Chinese New Year 2025 bottling celebrates the Year of the Snake, marrying the rich heritage of French double-distillation in copper Charentais alembic stills with Eastern artistry. Unlike younger Cognacs, Paradis focuses on finesse and silkiness, showcasing delicate floral notes, dried fruits, and warming spices acquired through decades of patient maturation in historic cellars.

Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy along the banks of the Charente River, Maison Hennessy has defined the architecture and prestige of modern Cognac. Sourcing primarily Ugni Blanc across the region's elite crus—notably Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois—the house relies on chalk-dense, limestone-rich soils and a temperate maritime microclimate to achieve base wines of searing natural acidity. Double-distilled on the lees in traditional Charentais copper pot stills, the unaged eaux-de-vie mature inside fine-grained French Tronçais and Limousin oak casks, orchestrated through humid and dry aging cellars. The blending process has been shepherded across eight generations of the Fillioux dynasty, overseen today by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and the venerated Tasting Committee.
