Hennessy's 'Très Vieux No. 1' represents an extraordinary liquid archive of the house's blending mastery, drawing from the most ancient reserves resting in the founder's cellar, known as 'Le Paradis'. Historically crafted from traditional Cognac grapes—predominantly Ugni Blanc, alongside legacy plantings of Folle Blanche and Colombard—this rare bottling showcases the profound depth achieved through double-distillation in copper Charentais stills. The eaux-de-vie are aged for decades in seasoned Limousin oak casks, allowing them to develop the highly prized 'rancio' character, marked by complex notes of dried apricot, leather, forest floor, and warm spices. This bottling is a testament to the multi-generational expertise of the Fillioux family of master blenders, who have safeguarded Hennessy's style since the 18th century.

Maison Hennessy blev grundlagt i 1765 af den irske officer Richard Hennessy og er i dag verdens førende cognachus med beliggenhed ved bredden af Charente-floden i Cognac.
