Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands, Highland Park is one of Scotland's most northerly and historic distilleries, founded in 1798 by the legendary smuggler-turned-preacher Magnus Eunson. The Orkney Single Malt Cask Strength Release No 2 represents the distillery's whisky in its purest form—un-diluted, non-chill filtered, and naturally colored. The defining character of Highland Park comes from the local Hobbister Moor peat, which is rich in heather and devoid of trees, imparting a unique, aromatic floral smoke rather than the medicinal peat of the western isles. Matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, this expression delivers a robust harmony of sweet wild heather honey, warm peat smoke, toasted oak, and rich dried fruits, reflecting the rugged maritime climate and Viking heritage of its island home.
