Highland Park, established in 1798 on the windswept Orkney Islands, is steeped in Viking history and rugged maritime tradition. This Cask Strength Release No. 3 showcases the distillery's whisky in its purest form—straight from the cask, un-chill filtered, and with no added color. Crafted by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, it relies heavily on Highland Park's signature peated malt, which is smoked using hand-cut Orcadian peat from the Hobbister Moor. Because this peat is rich in heather rather than wood, it imparts a uniquely sweet, aromatic, and gentle smoky character. Aged in a combination of first-fill sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, alongside refill casks, this single malt delivers a robust profile of warm peat smoke, exotic spices, and rich dried fruit, balanced by a coastal salinity born of its maturation in the wild Orkney climate.
