Located in Kirkwall on the windswept Orkney Islands, Highland Park is one of the northernmost distilleries in the world, deeply rooted in Viking heritage. This single malt is matured in a combination of hand-selected European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks. The unique Orkney terroir shines through via the distillery's use of local, hand-cut Hobbister Moor peat, which is rich in heather and imparts a distinctively sweet, aromatic, and gentle smoky character rather than the medicinal peat of the Islay region.
