Highland Park, situated on the windswept Orkney Islands of Scotland, is one of the northernmost distilleries in the world, steeped in Norse heritage and legendary smuggling folklore. Founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, a direct descendant of Viking settlers, the distillery relies on traditional methods, including floor malting and the use of local, heather-rich peat from Hobbister Moor. This unique peat, formed over thousands of years without trees due to the fierce island winds, imparts a distinctively sweet, floral, and aromatic smokiness to the spirit. The Orkney Single Malt Hogshead 'Full Cask' No 27 represents an exceptional single-cask expression, matured in a traditional hogshead cask.
