Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands, Highland Park is one of Scotland's most remote and historic distilleries, founded in 1798 by the legendary smuggler and vestryman Magnus Eunson. This single malt, matured in a single refill bourbon barrel (Cask No 221), showcases the distillery's unique coastal terroir. Orkney's peat is distinct, composed almost entirely of decomposed heather rather than wood, imparting a sweet, floral, and aromatic smoke. Founded in 1798 in Kirkwall on the remote archipelago of Orkney, Highland Park stands as one of Scotland's most historic and northernmost single malt distilleries. Owned by the Edrington Group, the distillery fiercely guards traditional whisky-making practices, still conducting its own hand-turned floor maltings and cutting dense, heather-rich peat from nearby Hobbister Moor.
