✨ wine.spec_sheet

Highland Park's 'Thor' 16 Year Old is the legendary first release in the distillery's acclaimed Valhalla Collection, celebrating the deep Norse heritage of the Orkney Islands. Established in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, a butcher by day and smuggler by night, Highland Park is one of the northernmost distilleries in the world. This expression, bottled at a robust cask strength of 52.1% ABV, reflects the thunderous character of the Norse god of war. It is crafted using Orkney's unique heather-rich peat, which burns cooler than Islay peat, imparting a distinctively sweet, floral smokiness. Aged for 16 years in a combination of sherry-seasoned oak casks and refill casks, this single malt delivers a dramatic profile of dried stone fruits, warm ginger, toasted oak, and lingering aromatic smoke, presented in a wooden frame inspired by the prow of a Viking longship.
