The tradition of 'Early Landed' Cognac is one of the most poetic chapters in spirits history, born from a centuries-old relationship between France and England. Shortly after distillation, casks of this 1977 vintage were shipped across the English Channel to age in the damp, cool, and temperature-stable cellars of Bristol. This maritime climate, vastly different from the dry cellars of Jarnac, slows down evaporation and reduces the wood's influence, allowing the spirit to retain an incredibly delicate, floral, and ethereal character. Bottled in 1996, this expression showcases the sublime elegance of Grande Champagne grapes, offering notes of candied citrus, white flowers, and soft spices, untouched by heavy oak tannins.
