✨ Technical Specifications

Hine's 'Early Landed' Cognacs represent one of the most romantic and distinctive traditions in the spirits world. Originating from the historic trade relationship between France and England, selected casks of the 1987 vintage—sourced from the premier cru of Grande Champagne—were shipped shortly after distillation to mature in the damp, cool, and temperature-stable cellars of Bristol, England. This unique maritime aging environment drastically alters the maturation process compared to the dry cellars of Jarnac. The high humidity preserves the volume of the spirit while gently lowering the alcohol level, resulting in an exceptionally delicate, light, and floral Cognac. Bottled in 2001 after 14 years of cask aging, this vintage showcases a remarkably elegant profile rich with notes of orange blossom, honey, and soft oak, embodying a centuries-old Anglo-French heritage.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in 1763 and later named in 1817 by Englishman Thomas Hine, Maison Hine is an esteemed Cognac house situated along the banks of the Charente River in Jarnac, France. Holding a distinguished Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II since 1962, the house is celebrated for its artisanal philosophy and dedicated focus on the premier terroirs of Grande and Petite Champagne. Hine is uniquely renowned for its mastery of single-vintage cognacs, including both classic Jarnac-aged releases and rare Early Landed casks matured in the damp, cool cellars of the United Kingdom. Emphasizing elegance, delicate floral aromatics, and minimal oak influence, the maison produces legendary expressions such as Antique XO Premier Cru, Triomphe, and single-harvest Bonneuil vintages.
