Hailing from the legendary Hill of Corton, the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 'Cuvée Françoise Poisard' represents one of the most prestigious white wine offerings from the historic Hospices de Beaune. This exceptional cuvée owes its existence to the generous 1994 bequest by Françoise Poisard, who donated prime parcels of Chardonnay vines situated within the highly coveted 'Le Charlemagne' climat. Grown on steep, light-colored limestone soils that catch the optimal sun exposure, the grapes yield a wine of majestic power and profound mineral tension. Traditionally auctioned in barrel on the third Sunday of November, the wine is subsequently raised by a chosen Burgundy négociant-éleveur. It showcases the classic Corton-Charlemagne profile: a brilliant golden hue, intense aromas of toasted hazelnuts, white flowers, and flinty minerality, backed by a rich, multi-layered palate and a remarkably long, saline finish.

Hospices de Beaune blev grundlagt i 1443 af Nicolas Rolin, kansler for hertugen af Bourgogne, og hans hustru Guigone de Salins. Institutionen blev etableret som et velgørende hospital og blev fra begyndelsen finansieret via donationer af førsteklasses vinmarker.
