โจ Technical Specifications
Hugel's Pinot Noir Jubilee represents the pinnacle of red winemaking in Alsace, a region with a deep, medieval heritage of Pinot Noir. Sourced primarily from the clay-limestone soils of the Pflostig vineyard in Riquewihr, this cuvรฉe showcases the exceptional potential of Alsatian Pinot Noir. The Hugel family has championed this variety for generations, aging the wine in historic, large oak casks in their subterranean cellars. The wine is celebrated for its structure, combining the elegance of cool-climate Pinot with a rich, velvety texture and complex notes of dark cherries, forest floor, and subtle spice. The 'Jubilee' designation historically marked the family's finest estate-grown reserve wines, demonstrating that Alsace can produce reds of true Burgundian complexity and longevity.
๐พ About the Producer
Established in 1639 in the picturesque medieval village of Riquewihr, Famille Hugel is one of the most venerable and celebrated wine producers in Alsace, France. Managed continuously by more than a dozen generations of the Hugel family, the estate combines historic family vineyards with carefully sourced fruit to champion the diverse terroirs of the region. Hugel was instrumental in establishing the official regulations for Alsace's revered late-harvest categories, Vendanges Tardives and Sรฉlection de Grains Nobles. Renowned globally for their purity, elegance, and ageability, the winery crafts benchmark dry and sweet expressions of noble Alsace varieties, particularly Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris, vinified traditionally in century-old oak foudres.
