✨ Technical Specifications
Though categorized under 'Other' as a distilled spirit rather than a traditional grape wine, the Jack Daniel's 1913 Gold Medal Tennessee Whiskey carries immense historical significance. This special release is part of a commemorative series celebrating the gold medals awarded to the distillery. The 1913 edition honors the gold medal won at the Universal Exposition in Ghent, Belgium, a poignant milestone achieved under the stewardship of Jack's nephew, Lem Motlow, following Jack Daniel's passing. Crafted in Lynchburg, Tennessee, using the historic mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley, the spirit undergoes the signature Lincoln County Process—mellowing drop by drop through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal—before aging in charred new American oak barrels. This process imparts its signature smooth, sweet, and smoky character, rich with notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1866 by Jasper Newton 'Jack' Daniel in Lynchburg, Tennessee, Jack Daniel's is recognized as the first registered distillery in the United States. The distillery relies on the iron-free, mineral-rich waters of Cave Spring Hollow and is defined by the traditional Lincoln County Process, in which unaged spirit is slowly mellowed through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal before maturation. Now part of the Brown-Forman Corporation, the distillery maintains an uncompromising commitment to crafting authentic Tennessee whiskey. Renowned worldwide for its flagship Old No. 7, Jack Daniel's also crafts premium expressions like Gentleman Jack and its nuanced Single Barrel Collection, celebrated for their signature balance of sweet vanilla, toasted oak, and mellow caramel notes.
