✨ Technical Specifications

Though categorized under other styles, this bottling is a legendary Tennessee Whiskey from the historic Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The 1914 Gold Medal Series commemorates the fifth gold medal won by the distillery, awarded at the Anglo-American Exposition in London in 1914. Crafted using the time-honored sour mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley, the spirit is filtered drop by drop through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal—the famous Lincoln County Process—before maturing in charred new American oak barrels. This historic release offers a window into the global legacy of Jack Daniel, delivering a rich profile of sweet vanilla, toasted oak, and warm caramel.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in 1866 by Jasper Newton 'Jack' Daniel alongside head distiller Nathan 'Nearest' Green, the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, stands as the oldest officially registered distillery in the United States. Sited strategically at Cave Spring Hollow, the facility draws cool, iron-free spring water filtered through subterranean limestone, critical to pristine fermentation and distillation. The hallmark sour mash bill—dominated by corn, complemented by rye and malted barley—undergoes the defining Lincoln County Process, in which unaged distillate filters drop by drop through dense sugar maple charcoal before barrel entry. Matured in hand-crafted, newly charred American white oak barrels exposed to Tennessee's shifting seasonal climate, the whiskey emerges with pronounced notes of vanilla, toasted caramel, and soft charcoal mellowing. Owned by Brown-Forman since 1956 and overseen by Master Distiller Chris Fletcher, the house remains celebrated for its ubiquitous Old No. 7, alongside benchmark collector bottlings, Single Barrel expressions, and the Gold Medal commemorative series.
