Jacques Selosse's Blanc de Blancs Brut NV is a masterclass in terroir-driven Champagne. Sourced from the legendary Grand Cru villages of Avize, Cramant, and Oger, this wine is crafted from three distinct vintages and aged in oak casks—a Burgundian technique pioneered by Anselme Selosse that shocked the region in the 1970s. Rejecting the standardized, highly manipulated styles of the era, Selosse embraced low yields, indigenous yeasts, and minimal dosage. The result is a Champagne of extraordinary vinous depth, characterized by an oxidative complexity, notes of bruised apple, toasted brioche, and a profound, chalky minerality that reflects the pure limestone soils of the Côte des Blancs.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1949 in the Grand Cru village of Avize, Champagne Jacques Selosse rose to legendary status under the visionary leadership of Anselme Selosse, who took over the estate in 1974. Applying Burgundian winemaking philosophies to the Côte des Blancs, Anselme pioneered low yields, organic viticulture, and fermentation in oak casks, fundamentally transforming modern Champagne production. The estate is celebrated for its highly individualistic, terroir-driven cuvées, including the solera-aged Substance and the acclaimed Lieux-dits series, which showcase an unparalleled depth, oxidative complexity, and vinous character.
