The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Pittyvaich is a liquid homage to Scotland's lost distilling heritage, focusing on the elusive character of the Pittyvaich distillery. Pittyvaich, situated in the heart of Speyside, opened in 1975 and closed its doors in 1993, leaving behind a finite and highly coveted reserve of single malt. Master Blender Dr. Jim Beveridge meticulously selected casks from this 'ghost' distillery, blending them with other exceptionally rare whiskies from closed distilleries like Port Dundas and Carsebridge, alongside active icons like Royal Lochnagar and Cragganmore. This expression highlights Pittyvaich's signature sweet, orchard-fruit notes, balanced by rich wood, delicate honeycomb, and soft spices, offering a sensory journey through a bygone era of Scotch production.
