The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, or 'droplets of gold,' is one of the Mosel's most legendary grand cru vineyards, forming a majestic, south-facing amphitheater along a dramatic bend in the river. According to local folklore, the vineyard earned its name from the glistening morning dew that clings to the grapes, resembling liquid gold under the rising sun. Julian Haart coaxes incredible precision from these steep, weathered Devonian blue slate soils. Utilizing organic farming, spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, and a hands-on but non-interventionist approach, Haart crafts a Riesling of breathtaking purity. The wine is celebrated for its crystalline minerality, vibrant tension, and a complex aromatic profile of white peach, citrus zest, and wild herbs, perfectly capturing the dramatic terroir of Piesport.
