The Wintricher Ohligsberg is a legendary steep site on the Mosel, historically ranked among the finest vineyards of the region. Julian Haart's dry Riesling from this Grand Cru site captures the intense, mineral-drenched character of its weathered blue slate and quartz soils. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, this wine balances a razor-sharp acidity with a rich, textured mid-palate, offering notes of wet stone, white peach, and wild herbs. It represents the pinnacle of modern dry Mosel Riesling, combining feather-light elegance with profound structural tension.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 2010 by Julian Haart in the historic winegrowing village of Piesport, this Mosel estate has quickly risen to cult status. Having trained under legendary mentors like Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller, Haart applies a meticulous, hands-on approach to farming steep, slate-rich grand cru vineyards such as Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Schubertslay, and Wintricher Ohligsberg. The estate's winemaking philosophy relies on organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, and minimal intervention to preserve the natural tension and purity of the fruit. Julian Haart is globally celebrated for producing incredibly precise, mineral-driven, and elegant Rieslings, particularly his legendary, feather-light Kabinett expressions.
