Kavalan's Concertmaster Port Cask Finish is a masterclass in the art of cask finishing, showcasing how Taiwan's unique subtropical climate interacts with traditional European oak. Located in Yilan County, where the cold, pure meltwaters of the Snow Mountain range meet the humid air of the Pacific, the distillery benefits from an accelerated maturation process. This 'angel's share' extraction is exceptionally high, resulting in a spirit of remarkable depth at a young age. The Concertmaster begins its journey in refill American oak casks before being transferred to a harmonious blend of Ruby, Tawny, and Vintage Port casks. This finishing process imparts a beautiful ruby-red hue and infuses the distillery's signature tropical fruit profile with rich, jammy notes of red berries, chocolate, and warming spices.

Founded in 2005 by the King Car Group under founder Tien-Tsai Lee, Kavalan Distillery is located in Yuanshan Township within Yilan County, Taiwan. Named after the indigenous Kavalan people of the Yilan plain, the distillery pioneered world-class Taiwanese single malt whisky production using mineral-rich meltwater sourced from the nearby Snow Mountain range. Kavalan capitalizes on Taiwan's intense subtropical climate, which accelerates the wood maturation process to yield remarkably complex, rich, and mature flavor profiles in a compressed timeframe.
