Hailing from the subtropical climate of Yilan County, Taiwan, Kavalan's Single Malt Oloroso Sherry Single Cask represents a revolutionary approach to whisky maturation. Utilizing the pure, mineral-rich meltwater from the Snow Mountain range, the spirit is aged in hand-selected Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Taiwan's intense heat and humidity accelerate the wood extraction process, resulting in a remarkably rich, complex, and deeply colored single malt in a fraction of the time required in cooler climates. This single cask expression showcases intense notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate, and warm spices, reflecting Kavalan's meteoric rise to global acclaim and its defiance of traditional whisky-aging paradigms.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan. Destilleriet er opkaldt efter det oprindelige Kavalan-folk fra Yilan-sletten og var pioner inden for taiwansk single malt whisky i verdensklasse, skabt på mineralrigt smeltevand fra den nærliggende Snow Mountain-bjergkæde.
