This exceptional single malt is part of the highly exclusive Kavalan Artist Series, a collaboration with the master Taiwanese fine artist Paul Chiang. Inspired by the coastal beauty of Taitung and Chiang's painting 'Pisilian (Morning Breeze)', this expression was matured in a single Puncheon cask (No. P080103044) and bottled in 2020. Puncheon casks, traditionally used for maturing sherry, impart a delicate yet rich character to the spirit. Kavalan's signature rapid maturation, driven by the intense subtropical heat of Yilan County and tempered by the cool breezes of the Snow Mountain range, coaxes deep, complex flavors of honey, tropical fruits, and soft oak from the wood in a fraction of the time required in cooler climates. This bottle represents a harmonious marriage of fine art and liquid craftsmanship.

Founded in 2005 by the King Car Group under founder Tien-Tsai Lee, Kavalan Distillery is located in Yuanshan Township within Yilan County, Taiwan. Named after the indigenous Kavalan people of the Yilan plain, the distillery pioneered world-class Taiwanese single malt whisky production using mineral-rich meltwater sourced from the nearby Snow Mountain range. Kavalan capitalizes on Taiwan's intense subtropical climate, which accelerates the wood maturation process to yield remarkably complex, rich, and mature flavor profiles in a compressed timeframe.
