The Baroota Shiraz Reserve highlights a fascinating chapter in South Australian viticulture, sourcing fruit from the unique terroir of the Southern Flinders Ranges, situated north of the Clare Valley. Named after the historic pastoral station of Baroota, this region is defined by its dramatic landscape where the rugged red earth of the outback meets the cooling maritime breezes of the Spencer Gulf. Kilikanoon was among the pioneering producers to champion this remote GI, recognizing that its warm, semi-arid climate and ancient, stony soils yield Shiraz of remarkable concentration and distinctive character. The wine is celebrated for its dark, brooding fruit profile, complex notes of dark chocolate, and a signature earthy, wild-herb undertone that reflects the untamed beauty of the Flinders Ranges.

Kilikanoon blev grundlagt i 1997 af vinmageren Kevin Mitchell og ligger i den naturskønne Clare Valley i South Australia. Vingården henter sine druer fra historiske, lavtydende gamle vinstokke fordelt over en række forskellige mikroklimaer og jordbundstyper, og huset er dedikeret til at skabe vine med enestående kraft, præcision og regional autenticitet. Kilikanoon har opnået stor international anerkendelse for sine dybt koncentrerede, strukturerede rødvine – heriblandt især flagskibene Oracle Shiraz og Prodigal Grenache – side om side med krystalklare, gemmeværdige Clare Valley Riesling-vine.
