The Krasno range is named after the picturesque, high-altitude village of Krasno in Goriška Brda, where vineyards cling to steep, hand-harvested terraces composed of 'opoka'—a distinctive local soil rich in marl and sandstone. This unique terroir is shaped by a dramatic climatic meeting point, where cool alpine breezes from the Julian Alps collide with warm Mediterranean air from the Adriatic Sea. Krasno Merlot is crafted to emphasize elegance and freshness over heavy extraction, capturing the bright red fruit character and mineral undertones typical of this cool-climate region. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel followed by aging in a combination of traditional large oak casks and neutral barriques, preserving its vibrant varietal typicity while refining its structure.
