The Krasno range is named after the high-altitude village of Krasno in the Goriška Brda region, where vineyards cling to steep, hand-carved terraces. The terroir here is defined by 'opoka'—a unique local soil composed of layered marl and sandstone that forces vine roots deep into the earth, imparting a distinct mineral complexity. While the region is historically celebrated for its white wines, the unique microclimate where the warm Adriatic Sea breezes collide with cool Alpine winds from the Julian Alps provides an exceptional environment for red varieties. This Syrah represents a cool-climate expression of the grape, showcasing vibrant acidity, cracked black pepper notes, and refined tannins, achieved through careful fermentation in stainless steel and partial aging in large oak casks to preserve its bright, terroir-driven character.
