✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the sun-drenched, terraced hills of Goriška Brda in Primorska, Slovenia, the Quercus Sauvignonasse showcases a grape variety with a dramatic history. Locally known historically as Tocai Friulano, the grape was renamed Sauvignonasse following EU regulations to protect Hungary's Tokaj region—a change that prompted local growers to affectionately refer to it as 'Jakot' (Tokaj spelled backwards). Grown on the region's signature mineral-rich marl soils, known locally as 'opoka', this wine benefits from a unique microclimate where warm Adriatic breezes meet the cooling influence of the Julian Alps. Klet Brda crafts this wine in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve its vibrant, fresh character, highlighting delicate almond blossoms, green apple, and subtle herbal notes underpinned by a distinct saline minerality.
