Hailing from the historic wine-growing village of Gumpoldskirchen in Austria's Thermenregion within Niederösterreich, Weingut Krug has a viticultural heritage dating back to 1746. 'Die Versuchung Rot' (The Temptation Red) is the estate's flagship red cuvée, crafted to showcase the unique terroir of the region where warm Pannonian winds meet cooler alpine breezes. This microclimate allows late-ripening varieties to develop rich, concentrated flavors. The wine is a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zweigelt, meticulously aged in French oak barriques to achieve a harmonious balance of dark forest fruits, sweet spice, and velvety tannins. It represents a seductive, modern expression of Austrian red winemaking tradition.

Founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, the House of Krug has established itself as one of Champagne's most legendary and uncompromising names. Operating from its historic cellars at 5 Rue Coquebert, the house is celebrated for its traditional production methods, notably fermenting all its base wines in small oak casks and maintaining an unparalleled library of reserve wines to achieve extraordinary complexity. This meticulous approach yields deeply structured, age-worthy sparkling wines, ranging from the iconic multi-vintage Grande Cuvée to rare, single-vineyard masterpieces like Clos d'Ambonnay, a highly coveted Blanc de Noirs sourced from a tiny walled plot in the heart of Ambonnay.
