Unlike modern single-varietal wines, a Gemischter Satz is a field blend where multiple grape varieties are grown, harvested, and co-fermented together in the same vineyard. The Krug family, whose viticultural roots in the region date back to 1746, utilizes this ancient method to capture the diverse terroir of their clay-limestone soils.
