The 154ème Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée is a historic recreation of the House's signature blend, crafted around the harvest of 1998. Following the visionary philosophy of founder Joseph Krug, who sought to offer the most generous expression of Champagne regardless of yearly climate variations, this edition is an assembly of 120 wines from 13 different years, spanning from 1980 to 1998. The base year of 1998 brought Chardonnays of remarkable finesse and structured Pinot Noirs, which were masterfully blended with older reserve wines to achieve unparalleled depth. Fermented in traditional small oak casks and aged for years in the Reims cellars, it displays a brilliant golden color and a complex nose of candied citrus, toasted hazelnuts, honey, and gingerbread, supported by a remarkably fresh, mineral finish.
