✨ Technical Specifications
The Krug Grande Cuvee 167eme Edition represents the 167th recreation of founder Joseph Krug's ultimate dream: to craft the most generous expression of Champagne every year, regardless of climatic variations. This specific edition is curated around the harvest of 2011, a year of unusual weather contrasts, and is composed of a masterfully orchestrated blend of 191 wines from 13 different years, with the oldest dating back to 1995. Comprising approximately 47% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay, and 17% Meunier, each parcel was individually vinified in traditional small oak casks to preserve its unique character. After resting for around seven years in the historic cellars of Reims, this Champagne emerges as a symphony of hazelnut, toasted brioche, and vibrant citrus notes, embodying the uncompromising craftsmanship and rich heritage of the House of Krug.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug in Reims, the House of Krug is one of the most revered and uncompromising prestige Champagne producers in the world. Driven by its founder's pioneering philosophy to craft the absolute fullest expression of Champagne each year regardless of climatic variations, the house treats each vineyard plot as an individual element in its masterful blending process. Krug vinifies its base wines in traditional small oak barrels and relies on an extensive library of reserve wines spanning more than a dozen distinct vintages. The resulting portfolio is legendary for its richness, complexity, and extraordinary aging potential, highlighted by the flagship Krug Grande Cuvée, prestigious vintage bottlings, and rare single-vineyard masterpieces such as Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay.
