The 170ème Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée is a masterclass in the art of assembly, crafted around the harvest of 2014—a year marked by dramatic weather contrasts in Champagne, from hot, dry spells to torrential rains. To realize Joseph Krug's original 1843 vision of creating the most generous expression of Champagne every year, this edition blends 195 individual wines from 12 different vintages, with the oldest dating back to 1998. Composed of 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay, and 11% Meunier, each plot's identity is meticulously preserved through fermentation in small oak casks. After resting for approximately seven years in the historic cellars of Reims, this multi-vintage blend emerges with unparalleled complexity, balancing vibrant citrus, toasted brioche, and a deep, mineral-driven structure that honors the house's uncompromising heritage.

Founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, the House of Krug has established itself as one of Champagne's most legendary and uncompromising names. Operating from its historic cellars at 5 Rue Coquebert, the house is celebrated for its traditional production methods, notably fermenting all its base wines in small oak casks and maintaining an unparalleled library of reserve wines to achieve extraordinary complexity. This meticulous approach yields deeply structured, age-worthy sparkling wines, ranging from the iconic multi-vintage Grande Cuvée to rare, single-vineyard masterpieces like Clos d'Ambonnay, a highly coveted Blanc de Noirs sourced from a tiny walled plot in the heart of Ambonnay.
