The Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition is the ultimate manifestation of founder Joseph Krug's dream to craft the most generous Champagne possible every single year, transcending the notion of vintage. This edition is structured around the 2017 harvest, a year of extreme weather that demanded meticulous plot-by-plot selection. It is a masterful blend of 131 wines from 10 different years, with the oldest reserve wine dating back to 2001. Composed of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, each parcel's juice is individually fermented in small, seasoned oak casks to develop rich texture and micro-oxygenation. The artful integration of Krug's legendary reserve library imparts a signature complexity, yielding a Champagne defined by its golden hue, fine bubbles, and expressive aromas of toasted brioche, citrus zest, and dried fruits.
