✨ wine.spec_sheet
The creation of Krug Rosé was once a closely guarded family secret, born from the fifth generation's desire to craft a rosé Champagne unlike any other. Henri and Rémi Krug presented their first creation to their father, Paul II, in 1983, challenging the house's traditional stance. The 21ème Édition is a masterclass in blending, built around the harvest of 2008 and incorporating 57 reserve wines from six different years, dating back to 2000. This multi-vintage blend consists of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, enhanced by a specially selected skin-macerated Pinot Noir red wine that imparts its delicate pale pink hue, structural backbone, and signature spicy character. Fermented in traditional small oak casks and aged for seven years in the cellars, it delivers an extraordinary spectrum of red fruit, puff pastry, and subtle spice.

Founded in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, the House of Krug has established itself as one of Champagne's most legendary and uncompromising names. Operating from its historic cellars at 5 Rue Coquebert, the house is celebrated for its traditional production methods, notably fermenting all its base wines in small oak casks and maintaining an unparalleled library of reserve wines to achieve extraordinary complexity. This meticulous approach yields deeply structured, age-worthy sparkling wines, ranging from the iconic multi-vintage Grande Cuvée to rare, single-vineyard masterpieces like Clos d'Ambonnay, a highly coveted Blanc de Noirs sourced from a tiny walled plot in the heart of Ambonnay.
