The creation of Krug Rosé was born from a bold vision by the fifth generation of the Krug family, Henri and Rémi, who sought to craft an unconventional, highly expressive Rosé Champagne that defied traditional expectations. The 24ème Édition is a masterclass in artful blending, designed around the remarkable 2012 harvest. To achieve its signature complexity, the House blended 22 reserve wines spanning 7 different years, with the oldest dating back to 2006. This multi-vintage masterpiece incorporates Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, elevated by the addition of a specially macerated Pinot Noir red wine from select parcels in Aÿ and Taissy to impart its delicate pale pink hue, structure, and spicy depth. Fermented in traditional small oak casks and aged for seven years in the historic cellars of Reims, it offers a symphony of wild berries, puff pastry, and subtle peppery notes, embodying the uncompromising spirit of Joseph Krug’s legacy.
