✨ Technical Specifications
The 28ème Édition of Krug Rosé is a testament to the House's non-conformist spirit, a tradition initiated by the fifth generation of the Krug family who sought to create an unexpected, highly gastronomic rosé Champagne. This edition is crafted around the harvest of 2016, a year of dramatic weather contrasts that ultimately yielded beautifully expressive fruit. It is an artful blend of 32 wines from 6 different years, spanning from 2010 to 2016, with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier represented. The backbone of its delicate pink hue and spicy structure comes from the addition of a traditionally macerated Pinot Noir red wine from the grand cru vineyards of Aÿ. Fermented in Krug's signature small oak casks and aged for seven years on the lees in the historic Reims cellars, this Champagne delivers a mesmerizing complexity of red berries, toasted brioche, and delicate floral notes.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug in Reims, the House of Krug is one of the most revered and uncompromising prestige Champagne producers in the world. Driven by its founder's pioneering philosophy to craft the absolute fullest expression of Champagne each year regardless of climatic variations, the house treats each vineyard plot as an individual element in its masterful blending process. Krug vinifies its base wines in traditional small oak barrels and relies on an extensive library of reserve wines spanning more than a dozen distinct vintages. The resulting portfolio is legendary for its richness, complexity, and extraordinary aging potential, highlighted by the flagship Krug Grande Cuvée, prestigious vintage bottlings, and rare single-vineyard masterpieces such as Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay.
