✨ Technical Specifications

Krug Vintage is not merely a selection of the best wines of a particular year, but rather the expression of that year's unique character as interpreted by the House of Krug. This concept dates back to the founder, Joseph Krug, who wrote in his personal cherry-red notebook in 1848 that the house should craft two Champagnes of equal quality: Champagne No. 1 (the multi-vintage Grande Cuvée) and Champagne No. 2 (the Vintage, representing the story of a single exceptional year). Fermented in small, seasoned oak casks and aged for at least a decade in the deep chalk cellars of Reims, each vintage release is a masterclass in complexity, structure, and tension, reflecting the climate and spirit of its specific growing season.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug in Reims, the House of Krug is one of the most revered and uncompromising prestige Champagne producers in the world. Driven by its founder's pioneering philosophy to craft the absolute fullest expression of Champagne each year regardless of climatic variations, the house treats each vineyard plot as an individual element in its masterful blending process. Krug vinifies its base wines in traditional small oak barrels and relies on an extensive library of reserve wines spanning more than a dozen distinct vintages. The resulting portfolio is legendary for its richness, complexity, and extraordinary aging potential, highlighted by the flagship Krug Grande Cuvée, prestigious vintage bottlings, and rare single-vineyard masterpieces such as Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay.
