✨ wine.spec_sheet

Viña Alberdi is a classic expression of traditional Rioja, crafted by the historic La Rioja Alta, S.A., a winery founded in 1890 in Haro's famous Barrio de la Estación. Named in honor of Nicolás Alberdi, a prominent past president of the house, this wine is unique within their portfolio as a 100% Tempranillo. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Rodezno and Labastida, the grapes thrive in nutrient-poor clay-limestone soils, yielding vibrant acidity and bright red fruit character. True to the estate's legendary commitment to traditional methods, the wine is aged for two years in American oak barrels handcrafted by the winery's own coopers. The first year is spent in new oak to impart sweet spices, vanilla, and coconut, while the second year in neutral oak softens the tannins, producing an incredibly silky, elegant, and aromatic Rioja.
