According to local Islay lore, a golden lion once protected the castle of Dunyvaig near the distillery, its fiery breath reflected in the intense, smoky character of the island's whiskies. Distilled slowly in Lagavulin's signature pear-shaped copper pot stills and matured exclusively in refill American oak casks, this cask-strength single malt showcases the distillery's purest, most untamed spirit.
