Distilled in 1976 and released in 2013 as part of Diageo's prestigious Special Releases, this legendary 37-year-old expression stands as one of the oldest and rarest official bottlings ever released by the historic Lagavulin Distillery. Situated on the rocky southern coast of Islay, Lagavulin is famous for its exceptionally slow distillation in pear-shaped stills and damp seaside warehouses. Over nearly four decades of maturation in refill American and European oak casks, the aggressive, medicinal peat smoke of its youth has transformed into an incredibly sophisticated, elegant spirit.
