Released exclusively for the 2019 Fèis Ìle, the Islay Festival of Music and Malt, this exceptional 19-year-old single malt represents a masterclass in wood selection and slow distillation. Matured in sherry-seasoned American oak casks, it marries Lagavulin's legendary maritime peat smoke and coastal brine with the rich, sweet, and spicy influence of sherry wood. The distillery's pear-shaped stills and unusually slow distillation process allow for maximum copper contact, creating a heavy, oily spirit that ages beautifully. This limited bottling captures the festive spirit of Islay, offering a complex nose of dried fruits, campfire smoke, and dark treacle, balanced by a warming, peppery finish.
