Established in 1815 along the rugged south coast of Islay by Donald and Alexander Johnston, Laphroaig represents one of Scotland's most distinctive and unapologetic single malt whisky profiles. Perched right against the Atlantic shore near Port Ellen, the distillery draws peaty, soft water from the Kilbride Stream and maintains traditional floor maltings that provide a fraction of its barley, heavily kilned over hand-cut Islay peat rich in moss and maritime heather.
