Islay's unique terroir is defined by its ancient peat bogs, which are infused with sea spray and heather. Laphroaig's traditional floor maltings and cold-smoking process over local peat fires impart the famous medicinal, iodine, and heavy smoke characteristics. Drawn directly from a single barrel at cask strength, this expression showcases the pure interaction between the spirit and the oak, offering an intense journey of maritime brine, sweet vanilla, and rich peat smoke. Kombinationen af koldrøgning og blødt, tørveholdigt vand fra Kilbride Reservoir giver en umiskendelig spiritus, der er rig på noter af tang, jod og markant tørverøg.
