While classified here under 'Other' due to its distilled nature, this expression is celebrated for its unique maturation process. It begins its life in ex-bourbon American oak casks, absorbing classic vanilla and oak undertones, before undergoing a crucial secondary maturation in European oak casks that previously held rich Ruby Port. This finishing process marries Laphroaig's legendary, uncompromising maritime peat smoke, medicinal iodine, and seaweed notes with the luscious, sweet red fruit, plum, and warm spice characteristics of the port wood, creating a complex and deeply warming dram.
