This expression undergoes a unique dual maturation: first resting in first-fill, over-charred ex-bourbon barrels, before being transferred to large European oak hogsheads. The process marries Laphroaig's signature maritime peat smoke—derived from local hand-cut peat rich in heather, moss, and seaweed—with deep notes of caramelized pear, dried fruits, and warm baking spices.
