Laphroaig's signature profile, replete with medicinal peat smoke, seaweed, and iodine, is shaped by hand-cut peat from the Glenmachrie peat moss and the soft, iron-free water of the Kilbride Stream. Traditionally matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and occasionally finished in European oak sherry casks, these vintage releases develop a complex harmony of sweet vanilla, toasted oak, and deep maritime brine over decades of maturation in warehouses kissed by the Atlantic sea spray.
