In the arid, desert-like terroir of San Juan, where intense sunlight is balanced by cool mountain nights, the thick-skinned Tannat grape develops deep concentration and rich, velvety tannins. Finca Las Moras carefully tames Tannat's naturally rustic power through precise oak aging, typically spending around 12 months in French and American oak barrels. The result is a deeply colored, muscular red wine that balances intense black fruit flavors, such as blackberries and dark plums, with complex undertones of vanilla, smoke, and dark chocolate, reflecting the rugged beauty of its Andean home.

Established in the 1990s in San Juan, Argentina, Finca Las Moras emerged as an essential pioneer in reshaping the region's viticultural landscape across the Tulum, Zonda, and Pedernal Valleys. Now part of the Grupo Peñaflor family, the winery takes its name from the native blackberry trees that frame its high-altitude vineyards tucked against the Andes Mountains.
