Laurent-Perrier's Grand Siecle is a masterpiece of blending, conceived in 1959 by the legendary Bernard de Nonancourt. Rejecting the traditional notion that a single vintage represents the pinnacle of Champagne, de Nonancourt sought to recreate the 'perfect year' by blending three complementary, exceptional vintage years. Named in honor of the 'Great Century' of King Louis XIV—a golden age of French gastronomy, arts, and refinement—this prestige cuvee is crafted from a meticulous selection of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from 11 of Champagne's most prestigious Grand Cru villages, including Avize, Cramant, and Ambonnay. The wine undergoes extensive cellar aging on its lees for at least eight to ten years, resulting in a Champagne of unparalleled complexity, tension, and silkiness that beautifully marries fresh citrus, toasted brioche, and honeyed minerality.
