Laurent-Perrier's Grand Siecle represents the pinnacle of Champagne blending, a concept envisioned by Bernard de Nonancourt in 1959 to recreate the perfect year by marrying three exceptional vintages. Named in honor of the 'Great Century' of Louis XIV, a golden age of French gastronomy and art, the Les Reserves No. 17 is an ultra-rare, extended-aging expression of Iteration 17, which blends the magnificent 1995, 1993, and 1990 vintages. Composed of approximately 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from prestigious Grand Cru vineyards such as Cramant, Avize, and Ambonnay, this cuvee underwent decades of slow maturation on its lees in magnums. The result is a majestic Champagne of unparalleled depth, displaying notes of candied citrus, toasted hazelnuts, honey, and noble autolytic complexity, balanced by a vibrant, mineral-driven freshness.
